Chocolate

Recently it has been hard to take Maddie’s picture before school because we are a little rushed. We have to leave by about 8:45 and Maddie gets up around 8/8:10 which leaves little time to eat breakfast and get dressed and do a picture. So, I have tried to do it when we get home but by then we are both exhausted and pictures are not our favorite thing. I bribed Maddie to go to the store with me after school because they give out cookies to good little girls. Well, needless to say Maddie tried to just eat all the chocolate out of the cookie – good girl.

Before school – she wanted to read her Bible in the car!


After school chocolate face:

”Maddie, do you want Mama to wipe the chocolate off your face?”
”No!”

Pumpkin Patch Photo-Op

So, I’m not really going to write that much because it’s pretty self explanatory. And basically I am just going to shove all the pictures I took in your face since you don’t really read what I write anyways. We went down to South Roanoke Methodists so Mimi’s friend Bittsy could take some pictures of Maddie. We did this last year too when Maddie was 6 months old. Bittsy, a photographer extraordinaire, unlike myself shoots Nikon black and white film and develops it all herself. The best I do it put my photo montage on here for you to see unedited aka raw. She wins. Here’s what I got, I’ll post later what she captured.



Maddie decided she was done and she was going to take her new friend, “care-crow” home.

W&L Swimming: Take I

Basically I have 3 pictures from the day. 2 from before we left that Donny took and 1 that I took at the meet. We were so busy running, climbing, coloring, eating and cheering that I had no time to take pictures. Pretty much, we Maddie squeezed into her onesie from last season and off we went.

Shhh . . . don’t show Donny

. . . but Maddie is sporting “big gurl” ponytail! She likes it sometimes and still needs a bow in the front to get those long bangs. Donny thinks it makes her look way to “grown up” and refuses to let her wear it up!

MDO: New Raincoat

We finally found a raincoat and it happened to finally rain. We aren’t too excited about the rain on a school day because you can’t go “weeee” down the slide, but still, we love our raincoat.

How do you . . .

. . . photograph your kid on the move? I tried to take some pictures of Maddie before going to church but she just keeps on walking. And, she is also obsessed with the camera and wants to see the “picture.” That would be why at the end all my pictures are Maddie in front of my lens or walking around behind me. Ugh!



After church and her nap Maddie likes to read and sit in her chair with her baby. But, baby must have been in some kind of mood because she did not want to cooperate and it was really bothering Maddie – to the point she she picked her up and tossed her! I guess it beats being shoved in the oven which is what Maddie was doing to her last week! I’m sure we’ll work these kinks out before the next baby comes.

Donuts with Dad!

Today at Maddie’s school they have donuts with Dad in the morning. All the dads (there are 8) bring their kids to work and get to have some munchkins and juice. Maddie, a lover or munchkins, was very excited. Donny said it was so cute, she wanted him to sit in the chair right next to him. Unfortunately they were the little chairs that are in the table. She also gave him a present that had a picture of her, her footprint and a poem. And, she didn’t even cry for Donny (she doesn’t for me anymore) when he had to leave. Donny also said she went around trying to share with the other kids – so cute! Maddie was not up for having her picture taken before school apparently.

Cleaning my teeth

We would call it “brushing” our teeth, but when I first told her that she started to use the toothbrush and brush her hair. Such a smarty pants. And yes, she still only has two teeth but she loves to clean them and drink her water out of a “big gurl” cup. Don’t mind the 10ft of toilet paper she unwound in the background.
