D 4 Months

D, little man, you are four months old. Well, maybe a little more than that but who’s counting? You are a big guy. I took you to the doctors last week and your stats were:
weight: 17lbs 12oz – 90th percentile
height: 25in – 50-75th percentile
DSC_0684The doctor was so impressed with you neck/head control. You pull up with your arms and keep your head right in-line. You also will pull up to stand and can do more than just “bear weight” on your legs.
DSC_0706
You have rolled over once or twice but nothing that is becoming a habit. You do love to just lay on your side though.
DSC_0735You are sleeping through the night consistently for the last month. If you do wake up we just let your cry, if you even do, sometimes you just talk and stomp your feet and then go back to sleep. You sleep from 8-6.
DSC_0764
You talk all.the.time.! You are so happy and smiley now – so different than the little baby you were two months ago. You babble and love, love to blow raspberries.
DSC_0767
You grab for toys and grasp your hands together too. It is so adorable to watch you focus your hands and try and grab sometime. Which you then instantly try to shove in your mouth.
DSC_0703
You have started solids. So far we have tried rice cereal, avocado, and bananas. You aren't quite sure what to do with the food but you seem to enjoy it.
DSC_0728
You continue to eat 5x a day. Morning bottle at 6/6:30 then at 10, 1, 5, and 7:30/8. We have been doing solids at “lunch” because that is when you are up and happiest to eat it.
DSC_0757
You are really such a happy little playful baby. You love to smile back at your mama, dada, and Maddie. You smile at anyone else who talks to you and gets you going. You also giggle and squeal which is just hilarious. I have a video of you in the jumper (your fave) just laughing at me.

Little weekend of work.

Here’s what we have been up to this weekend. We had a few awesome visitors come in this weekend and spoil us rotten. By that I mean we . . .

Got to have some serious snuggle time,

We ate “big boy” food, rice cereal (for the record D is 4 months, but that’s a whole other post!),

We got to paint and do handprints with Aunt Lin,DSC_0701

And we built stuff – a safer staircase to match the deck and a raised bed for our veggie garden!

Midweek Confessions

It's time for another round of . . .

. . . car of E.

- I have been doing this boot camp for a week plus and I love it. We meet MWF so I have done it 4 times and its awesome. I am totally sore and on the verge of throwing up pretty much each time but its great.

- I have a secret blog that I have been writing about to go with the boot camp. I guess if you looked under my profile you could find it, duh, but it's not like I'm putting it out there. I feel insecure when talking about weight issues with really anyone. 3 almost 4 months post baby, yeah i need a boot camp.

- I may have rocked out this morning with my two year old to "this my stronger song, mama." Yeah, Maddie, Kelly Clarkson and I may have a had a little jam sesh this morning over waffles.

- Oh, and that boot camp thing, we are logging all our food. So no I did not have a waffle this morning. Buuuut, I did have a Chik-Fil-A chicken strip with Maddie at lunch today and it was one of the greatest things I have ever eaten.

- Another fave song of the moment, "what makes you beautiful," by One Direction. Yes I am a 13 year old girl when it comes to the music. Maddie calls is the "uh oh" song, just listen to it, you'll be hooked like me! (PS I am totally listening to it right now and bouncing around.)

- I wish I could do my makeup this well:

- I have been doing better-ish with my cleaning confession I made last week. I have yet to feel the urge to throw toys out the window. I have stationed a hamper in the living room to throw all clothes I find in there - including freshly used bibs and burps clothes. I have decided to no longer sort laundry - sorry - if you want it done do it yourself - my new motto.

- Apparently I am going to use a lot of - - - today - its just my mental pause.

- And my super confession, again with the boot camp, I am sore sometimes but not like catatonic-cant-move-out-of-bed sore which I thought I would be. Although I may change my mind on this after our session tonight.

- This picture always makes me smile, even when we have been screaming/crying/whining all day.

- And I don't know why (well I do because its so awesome), but every time I listen to this song I cry. It may or may not help that when Maddie hears this song she says, "I love this Jesus song."

True Story

Yes, while both kids were napping I mowed the yard. Yes, I was a sweaty grass covered mess. Yes, I then took a shower. Yes, D then woke up and I figured I would go ahead and feed him. And yes, while standing wrapped in my towel with a baby on my hip I heard a man talking in my backyard. Yes, I originally thought it was my neighbors and kids until I realized it was Scott and Maddie’s bestest bud Park. So I called out through the window to them in the backyard to say hey! And yes, I was still wrapped in my towel.

I threw on the closest semi-clean clothing I could find and invited them in. Park, love him, enjoys dressing up in Maddie’s stuff. In particular her shoes and tutus, did I mention how much I love this? He also loves the fact that Maddie has about four bikes sitting in our front yard. Maddie finally woke up from her nap and joined us outside to play. Not a moment before she dressed up too. I don’t think these photos need any captions.

I told Scott I could make him a matching tutu. He’s getting back to me on the color.

Flying solo Sunday

Well most days I am flying solo for some part of the day because Donny is at work or playing soccer, or help coach soccer, etc. But, today was a Sunday where we usually team up to get the kids ready for church, do lunch, the rest of the day, etc. Instead Donny and Ben went down to the Wells Fargo golf tourney in Charlotte for the day. No worries, the kids and I got through the day just fine – well, we were all up at six am, so were were maybe a little more tired than normal.

But everyone was happy and smiling.DSC_0593

Well, this is Maddie’s new “smile face,” yikes!
DSC_0596

Yes, D, my thoughts exactly.
DSC_0597

So yes, everyone is happy.
DSC_0598

And, we all got showered, dressed and ready for church. And we made it there on time!
DSC_0599DSC_0602

Really Maddie? That’s your smile? D, I’m worried too.
DSC_0603

At least we got a few quasi-good photos in,DSC_0605

. . . and then this happened!

So I back-blog

DSC_0530
Some of you may notice that all of sudden you come to my blog and there are 3 or 4 new posts! Well, it gets busy around here and I blog on the upstairs computer so it isn't as easy to do on a daily or every other day basis. So when I do dump all my pictures for the week or two and I write my posts, I try to date them for that day. Mainly because I like to look back and see the right time frame for something. For example, I could be late in actually posting D’s weekly or monthly post but the pictures and such are from the right date. So anyways, I did do the midweek confessions at the right time but that’s because I could use the iPad – no pix necessary. And, we/I had a major scare – our computer had a virus that made it seem like everything, I’m talking everything, had been wiped clean. Pictures and videos from when Maddie was born til now and the same with D. So, I haven't been up on this computer, nor was I going to add new photos onto an infected computer. So, for your reading pleasure I recently posted these:
1. D 15 Weeks
2. Midweek Confessions
3. Tutu to school
4. It's like riding a bike
5. What's up D?

D 15 Weeks

I finally got a chance to take a few - ok a lot - of pictures of you today while you were so happy! You are still sleeping well and eating super well. And you are still obsessed with eating your hands. You put them together and clasp them and then right into your mouth they go – bring on the slobber!

By the way this “infant” sized hat does not fit your head, sorry.
DSC_0554
You try to talk with your lips closed. It’s like you are trying to blow bubbles with your mouth closed – its hilarious!
DSC_0556
Oh, and you are in the jumper now and can just quite reach the floor on the first setting.
DSC_0559

Now this my friends, is a boys outfit. Who’s with me?! Smocked dinosaurs – yes please!!DSC_0561
This dazed look never gets old! Besides it helps remind me//show other people how big you are!DSC_0564DSC_0570
Focused!
DSC_0578

Yup, there's my little helper Maddie! Look at how mesmerized D is with her. She's saying “look here D, now cheese!”
DSC_0580
“Come here sis, let me just nibble on your arm for a sec.”

Midweek Confessions

In an attempt to actually have more than a thousand pictures a post on my blog, I am joining up with E for some midweek confessions.

- I am making a conscious effort to try and stay of Facebook, ie no posting pictures (on my wall at least) of the kiddos. Thus I am stalking all of my “friends” and their blogs.

- I feel like the blogs that I read, I know them and thus they are my friends. For example, I think I cried when I found out Megan was pregnant. I talk about Kelly like she lives down the street. I got excited when Kat got the same camera as me. And, reading about Katie and her running journey makes me want to go run . . . does anyone else feel this way about fellow bloggers?

- I have conquered one day of boot-camp and I love it. I may make a blog about that too – something else for no one to read? Ha. I say I loved the first day mainly because it was, gasp!, less than I thought we were going to have to do. I thought the measurements, mile and times pushups/sit-ups were the “prelim” stuff and then we were going to have our session – then I really would have died.
- I have been trying to be better about letting house not be super clean all the time. I made it about two days and then in a fit of rage last night almost threw Maddie’s power wheels (which was in the kitchen) out the window.
- Following with the previous random-bite, our house is entering that “overwhelming large toy” phase. D is using those bigger toys, like the bouncer and the swing, and Maddie has about 8 bikes that “cant” get wet those they have to get moved inside. my 100 sq ft house feels smaller by the day.
- Oh and Donny and I are trying to eat healthy. By which I mean I eat cereal and he eats chocolate chip pancakes. I drink my water bottle while he has Oreos with his milk. Makes it tough for sure!
- Maybe I will go start that other blog . . .

Tutu to school

Yes, Maddie wore this to school today. She also ate Oreos out of the trash. This outfit is clearly the lesser of two evils.
DSC_0546
PS. I wonder why she loves Oreos so much, ahem Donny, cough cough?
