“I run, I run!”

Maddie’s new “thing” is running through the kitchen. She stands on the air vent on one end and waits ‘til you say “go” and runs to the other end. Once she reaches me she is so excited and says “I run!”

Did I mention Maddie picked out her own outfit today? Did I mention that this tutu is a 6-12 month from Gymboree and still fits fine?

3rd Day of School

Before school things can get a little, well, hairy.

Yes, these pictures are dark. No, we do not live in a cave. Apparently every day when Maddie goes to school it is dark and rainy and I do not lighten or edit the pictures before I put them up so deal with it.

Wordless Wednesday: 2nd Day of School

Maddie missed last week of school (she goes Tuesdays) because she was sick. So, this Tuesday was her second day. She had a blast and was a big helper, and a good sharer of all her food I packed for her.

Coloring

We have moved beyond that phase of sitting and playing with toys. I am forever trying to think of different fun things to do around the house to keep Maddie entertained. Right now she loves to “color.” Basically just take crayons and scribble on the wall where I tape the paper up. Crayola, because they are geniuses, have washable crayons where with just a baby wipe it comes right off. Smarties. Oh, and this was right after a nap, so Maddie was rocking some serious bedhead!

Like I said, whoa.

Sicky Sick Sick

Maddie has been sick all week. We have gone from cold to tummy bug to ear infection. Aside from that fact that Maddie won’t eat, she doesn’t want to drink anything other than milk. Which, makes getting fluids in her pretty challenging. Although she seems to be taking it pretty well from Dada.

Maddie’s First Day . . .

. . . of school! Well, technically it’s Mother’s Day Out – but we call it school. Maddie has been excited to go to “cool” for a while, and has been practicing carrying around her lunch box. The teachers said she was such a good girl – she didn’t cry the whole time – even when I dropped her off and left. She was a big helper and talked to some of the other “babies” (kids) there. She also shared most of her snack with everyone else and nibbled on her lunch but mostly shared it – sounds about right. Right now she is just going to do Tuesdays, but I think come October she will do Tuesdays and Thursdays. Oh, and what did I do on my day out? I went to Starbucks and got a coffee, went to Lowes and came home and put in all new outlets and air return vents upstairs!DSC_0523

. . . and one smiley picture with “Bear.” It’s actually a raccoon, but Maddie only says part or the word, and we don’t want to offend anyone with Maddie’s mildly derogatory name for him.

Choo Choo

Maddie has a new obsession with trains. She has always liked them, and has loved pushing her toy train around the house. However, a couple weekends ago when we were in Richmond we got to see the train that goes around Short Pump Mall – well that was that. Since there she is always looking for a “choo choo.” So, I figured it was time to add the caboose to the train Aunt Carlie got her for her birthday. She hasn’t quite figured out how to “ride” it, but she loves playing with it just the same.

Uh oh, that’s the mischievous look.

Oh, fishy face while riding the train.

And here's the “I’m riding my train and I just saw Dada pull up from work” look!
