Maddie’s First Parade

This week we are getting a couple firsts – first earthquake, first parade, the usual stuff really. There was a big parade downtown to welcome Wells Fargo to Roanoke. Maddie got to “walk” in it with Donny. She was so excited to see the horses that she kept pointing at them to watch them. She also loved just watching the band right behind where they were walking. Poor thing, we had to “line up” about 45 minutes before the parade started and it was hot. By the end Maddie was as flushed as her little red Wells Fargo tee, and her hair was all damp from sweat. Poor thing. But, she had the best time seeing everyone and the horses and the dog. She also was in love with Senator John Edwards grandson and got to meet them both, the little boy and the senator. Needless to say Maddie fell asleep in the car about 5 minutes after we left downtown.

Oh, and Maddie’s picture made the paper too. Here is the link, and the photo they took!
