Apple Pickin’ We Go!
Just like last year, we looked forward to going to pick apples at Apple Barn. Unlike last year I got to have my very own apple cider slushie, thank you. Can we just compare for a second . . .
And this guy . . . love him.
And just a few more . . .
This face cracks.me.up!!!
Together, no? Ok.
Oh, and Maddie wanted to take her own picture . . . something like “I do it!!” Yup, it’s a gem!

My Monday Lunch Date
One of the great things with Maddie going to “school” twice a week – aside from being able to go out and easily run errands, is I get to spend some quality time with D!
Lets be honest this little guy loves to eat, um anything and everything.
We also get to play just the two of us, which mainly is us crawling around (ugh my knees) and pulling up on stuff.
Its hard with a second child to be able to have some bonding time with just them without depriving your first. And while Maddie and D do play together some, he just mainly wants to “eat” her toys which aggravates her.
I think one of his first phrases he will learn from Maddie will be “no, D!” Poor guy.
Anyways – my lunch date, Mondays and Thursdays, such a happy little bugger!
It’s finger lickin’ good!

Big 3-0!
That’s right, Dada Donny turns 30 tomorrow! I’m so glad he is so much older than me, he can pave the way. We don’t have many big plans with the kids being sick and all (and Donny too). But, we do have 36 holes of golf scheduled for the weekend so that will be fun. Maddie and I made cookies and cake to take to Donny’s work so everyone would know it was his birthday – they stopped celebrating them as a group a little while back – boo. Maddie and I needed something to do while her and D were sick and while D napped – so naturally my go-to craft is baking!

First Ear Infection
Not really one of those memorable first things, like sleeping through the night, sitting up, crawling, but it was bound to happen and I’m glad we made it as far as we did without one. I knew D was a little “off” because he wasn’t wanting to eat as much as usual – hello red flag, have you met my son? He loves some food.
So I took him in to the doctor just to check and see if anything was up. Aside from the whole eating thing he really didn’t have many other symptoms.
Like Maddie he still slept great and acted pretty much like normal. A little temperature – but with this whole teething thing (!!) that’s to be expected.
Oh, did you hear me say teeth? Yes, a little tooth on the bottom – just one ‘cause my kids cant teeth like normal. Remember Maddie finally cut her bottom two teeth when she was, ahem, one. Yeah.
So anyways, ear infection it is. He is taking amoxicillin and so far no issues (Maddie is allergic). We can’t wait for him to be back to his normal hungry feed-me-now self!

Maddie’s Second Day of MDO
Again, Maddie was very excited about school. She couldn’t wait to see her buddies! She did great again when I dropped her off and did great on the potty “all by self!” The teacher did say that Maddie didn’t play at all today she just kind of observed everything the whole day. I’m hoping that once she gets to know everyone better she will warm up and let her real personality shine through that shyness! Today she wanted to wear shorts and tee shirt – no dress. Oh and we needed to do a ponytail so it doesn’t interfere when it comes to art/craft time.

First Day of MDO Big Bears!
I cant believe this is your second year doing MDO, you have been so excited for school to start! You are in the Big Bear class this year with all new “big kids.” You are the youngest one this year instead of the oldest.
You had a great first day, I packed you all your favorites for lunch. And imagine, it came back pretty much whole. You ate it all for dinner though.
You loved carrying your back pack in all by yourself just like the big kids. You were excited that you climb the stairs all by yourself now and put all your stuff away by yourself too!
Your teachers said that you had a great first day (no tears!) and had fun!
You did a great job going potty at school – you got two stamps! We have to make sure you have the teacher help you even though you “need privacy!” because the kids potty is still a little too high.
You were talking about all your new buddies on the car ride home and then asked to go home and rest – you were wiped!
You wanted a picture with D before we went to school - well, yeah.
Maddie, this was you last year on your first day of school. You were not even eighteen months old, and I was five months pregnant.

Not a Wordless Wednesday: D Happenings
Here is how D rolls around the house when its just us:
Hey what's up? Welcome to my play time!
Let me just get these darn golf clubs out and we can play with these!
Ahh, here we go, got my driver, now we’re talkin!
Wait, what this over here?
Oh I can just barely see it up there. . . .
Oh, that’s better, yup I’ve got it now, its, its . . .
Oh, so cool, a dryer sheet! Look at this, wow!
Wait, that’s it? That’s all it does, just wave there and stuff? Boring.
I’m outta here . . .
