Oh the beach, how I love you. I love the beach, Maddie loves the beach, D even loved the beach. We had so much fun this year. It is so funny think that last year Maddie was in a pack’n’play in our room and I was preggo. This year we still have the pack’n’play in our room but with D in it – and Maddie in her own big girl room next door. We took morning walks like we did last year, but this time it was D taking the morning nap and Maddie in the stroller with us. I took tons of pictures, duh, and we all did a whole lot of nothing! It was great! No need for me to write much more, I captured pretty much everything!

D 6 months
Oh my biggest boy, six months already, another six til you are one?! Craziness I tell you. You are becoming quite the big boy, I mean literally,
weight: 20lb exactly – 90th percentile
height: 27” – 75th percentile
head: 17.5” – 75th percentile
. . . yup, that’s one big boy.
Here's what you have been up to this month:
- You are still sleeping great, even heavier I think because you are moving more. You take a morning nap at 8/8:30 til 10:30 or so. Depending on how happy you are you may go down for another snooze at 11 something, depending on when you got up. You go down again around 2 sleeping til ~5. Then you go to bed around 7:30 and sleep til 6:30.
- Food! Boy, you haven't met something you didn’t like. You are on three meals a day now. You have bottles at 6:30, 10:30, 1:30, 5:30 and 7:30. Usually about 6-7 oz in each but you never drain them all, you usually leave an oz or two in the ones following food meals.
- In terms of solids you have had apples, pears, bananas, peaches, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, green beans, carrots, and of course, prunes. The rice cereal mixed in all you food sometimes gets you a little clogged up.
- You are really starting to move! A little before six months you were getting up on all fours and rockin! Now you do that and you can push yourself up to sit! Crazy! You have pulled yourself onto you knees at the edge of the crib so we had to lower it.
- I'm sure you will be crawling soon but you have gotten pretty good at your wiggle, sit up floor routine. You lay down and push yourself up to sit different ways to get you to an object rather than actually trying to crawl.
- You babble all.the.time. Lots of noises but also some “ba ba ba.” We are also pretty sure you said “da da” the other night, but we haven't heard anything since then.
- You went to the beach for the first time and loved it! You love the water – we knew this from the pool – but you also love the sand! You tried to eat it all the time. You and sand don’t really mix either, lots of tiny bits of sand stuck in all those yummy rolls.
- Speaking of rolls, you are breezing through your clothes. I keep telling Donny that seriously we need to buy you some new things because you are just big! And anything that really restricts the thigh area is challenging, ha! All 6-9 month stuff is too snug so you are mostly wearing 12 month clothes!
- You are really such a happy little guy! You love to watch your sister, and she can make you laugh like crazy. You really love to “study” things and now everything has your curiosity since you can really move towards stuff.
- I’m guessing by next month you will be on two solid naps a day, probably dropping a bottle sometime soon, and probably crawling. Good thing I never un-babyproofed anything!

A Goof Off Day!
Mornings around here go like: breakfast for all, bath, and nap time for D. This morning I had a little helper for bath who insisted D wanted bubbles.
While D naps we usually water our seeds, check on our other plants and then clean something or do some laundry. Then we do other really important things like touch up our nail polish and then shower and get dressed.
We sometimes go out to lunch and sometimes we just stay in. We goof off before nap time reading stories, singing songs or just rolling around and laughing.
After naps we play/have dinner. Tonight it was green beans for D and chicken and veggies for us. Maddie ate all of her dinner and earned a “treat” on her potty chart so she got to have some ice cream! Lucky gal.
And then we get cleaned off again, get in our PJs and relax a little and its off to bed!
