We set out to go apple picking at Apple Barn in Troutville. It is such a cute place to go, and although it was a little chilly, we had a blast. Maddie kept saying “apple” the whole way there. I may have let Maddie and Donny pick most of the apples while I crawled in my hands and knees to take pictures. Maddie is apparently anti-looking at the camera, how sweet.
You don’t mind a little photo overload, do you?
Maddie was pretty excited to just collect apples and put them in the bucket. She would stand there with her hand out saying “Dada, apple.”
A little wave to the camera.
Maddie also learned how to climb a ladder.
And once we got our apples, we weren’t done there. Maddie collected about four Beanie Babies bears that she found inside which she just about cried when she had to put them back. Donny got really excited because they have there own apple butter that they make, so we got a jar. Maddie was excited because we found mini “punkins” that she could have, so we got three. Oh, and they have apple cider slushies which are pretty much amazing. We got halfway home and Donny said, “man, I should have gotten a large!” Even though it was a little brisk, we had a blast, and we beat the crowd – there were tons of people coming out to get apples as we were heading in.

We took Peanut apple picking for the first time a couple of weekends ago (Ok, so she mostly just napped but still). I love your little girl's pink jacket. It's adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove the apple picture where you are holding Maddie up on your shoulders! You should have called us, we would have loved to participate!
