One of Maddie’s favorite things to do once D is awake is to get into his crib with him. She wants to lay there and look at the mobile (how entertaining for a 2 year old?) and D wants to look at her/pull her hair. Maddie calls it their “nuggle time,” not to be confused with when she goes to sleep and has all of her 400 “nuggies".”
So cute!!

Wanna do ‘dis Slip ‘n’ Slide wit Maddie?
This was said about four hundred times today. Maddie would walk around and find Rick and ask him over and over. She started at 7am. Poor guy. To say that they had fun would be an understatement to say the least! And this was only at 10:30 this morning. Maddie loves her some Uncle Rick! And now for a photo roll of what went down . . .
lil bitty butt cheek :)
Double fisting chocolate chip cookies from the neighbors = a great morning in Maddie’s book!

First Lake Trip
of the season and D’s first trip ever to the lake! Rick was in for Memorial Day weekend and we decided to head down for Saturday and spend the night.
We spent some time getting our suits on and all lathered up in sunblock. Maddie is thoroughly entertained by Rick always, but she was super excited when I showed her the special bubbles I packed for her.
Cute bathing suits, check.
We picked up some bait on the way down too so Maddie could “fish.” Maddie caught two fish, Rick caught none.
Sideline cuteness while hanging out with me and the camera.
Maddie mixed some tunes for us.
And we all got in for a quick swim – even D!
And we even got in a little tummy time!

D 4 Months
D, little man, you are four months old. Well, maybe a little more than that but who’s counting? You are a big guy. I took you to the doctors last week and your stats were:
weight: 17lbs 12oz – 90th percentile
height: 25in – 50-75th percentile
The doctor was so impressed with you neck/head control. You pull up with your arms and keep your head right in-line. You also will pull up to stand and can do more than just “bear weight” on your legs.
You have rolled over once or twice but nothing that is becoming a habit. You do love to just lay on your side though.
You are sleeping through the night consistently for the last month. If you do wake up we just let your cry, if you even do, sometimes you just talk and stomp your feet and then go back to sleep. You sleep from 8-6.
You talk all.the.time.! You are so happy and smiley now – so different than the little baby you were two months ago. You babble and love, love to blow raspberries.
You grab for toys and grasp your hands together too. It is so adorable to watch you focus your hands and try and grab sometime. Which you then instantly try to shove in your mouth.
You have started solids. So far we have tried rice cereal, avocado, and bananas. You aren't quite sure what to do with the food but you seem to enjoy it.
You continue to eat 5x a day. Morning bottle at 6/6:30 then at 10, 1, 5, and 7:30/8. We have been doing solids at “lunch” because that is when you are up and happiest to eat it.
You are really such a happy little playful baby. You love to smile back at your mama, dada, and Maddie. You smile at anyone else who talks to you and gets you going. You also giggle and squeal which is just hilarious. I have a video of you in the jumper (your fave) just laughing at me.

Little weekend of work.
Here’s what we have been up to this weekend. We had a few awesome visitors come in this weekend and spoil us rotten. By that I mean we . . .
Got to have some serious snuggle time,
We ate “big boy” food, rice cereal (for the record D is 4 months, but that’s a whole other post!),
We got to paint and do handprints with Aunt Lin,
And we built stuff – a safer staircase to match the deck and a raised bed for our veggie garden!
Whew what a weekend!
